I couldn't wait to read a story about Connor and Rose. I found their relationship to be adorable and really enjoyed where the story went. I enjoyed Connor's wit and how Rose was able to give it right back. It was also nice to see Connor break down and really need Rose. Overall, I enjoyed reading about these two!Tags : Kiss the Sky [Krista Ritchie, Becca Ritchie] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. <div>Spin-off book in the Addicted series | Book #1 in the Calloway Sisters series </div><div><b>This New Adult Romance can be described as Friends meets The Real World. The Calloway sisters are back! Rose, Daisy and Lily have had their fair share of ups and downs since we were introduced to them a few books back. Up until this point we have been primarily witnessing these moments through the eyes of Lily Calloway. Now, Rose takes center stage as we embrace her as the first narrator in this installment and I couldn’t be more happy. Not only do we get to see the family through new eyes, we get to see how much more there is to Rose.
We already know quite a lot about her. Rose Calloway is independent, loving and tough. She loves her sisters more than anyone. She runs her own fashion line and is business savvy. Intelligent, driven and passionate–there are so many ways to describe her. At the start of Kiss the Sky, we see how her relationship with Connor has developed in time and more of that closeness with her sisters. Our primary plotlines are as follows Rose’s *fear* of sex (and what may change in her relationship once she is no longer a virgin) and her desire to get her clothing line back up and running after her younger sister’s scandal broke.
In an effort to bring business back in and keep her fashion line in order, Rose is taking on a whole new role that could prove to be dangerous in its own light. Reality television. The show could end badly but it’s a risk she is willing to take, to get her line back out there and to also serve as a way for Lily to explain her story (and her boyfriend Lo) beyond the tabloids.
But when the man running the show is an unfortunately awful addition to their circle of friends–can Rose, Connor, Lo, Lily, Ryke and Daisy handle the pressure of it all? Interference by the tabloids and cameras are one thing when you’re already used to the spotlight, but living with someone who is constantly stirring the pot is a different story entirely. And this man? He is a real piece of work, I'll say that. I liked that there is a soapy quality to Kiss the Sky–but it doesn’t diminish the intelligent and honest tone that Krista and Becca Ritchie have been serving us since the start of the series.
There’s something lighter about this one but not too light, if you get my meaning. The Ritchie sisters are pros at weaving all kinds of topics together without making us go, “wait, what?” a hundred times in the worst ways. Character development is a strong front in Kiss the Sky. We still see how Lo and Lily’s addictions are an everyday battle. We still see how strong Rose is even in tougher parts. We still see that Daisy is young despite her career and older-than-she-appears exterior. Everything we love about Addicted translates wonderfully in this spin-off.
Yes. It’s just as good–if not better–than the first three books. I liked that we got to spice things up by seeing through Rose and Connor’s eyes. It makes the two a lot more… real to readers. Their romance is sweet and spicy all at once and I can’t believe I just said spicy but let’s pretend I can find a better way to describe it all. I liked the way they’ve progressed and that we got a lot of background information on both of them. I liked seeing Rose overcome herself and let loose a little, I liked seeing Connor do the same in different ways. Really, their connection is something wonderful and I’m so glad to see where they are, where they came from and where they will be in the future.
Not just because their steamy scenes made me need a cold shower, either. There is just something so pleasing about their relationship that they stand out to me quite well. I’m seriously raving about these two. And can we talk about Rose and her desires for, ah, submission in the scenes where these two are alone?
(You're never really alone, though, when you've got a contract for a reality show. So keep this in mind there's hardly privacy even in more private moments.)
Let’s all take a moment to appreciate the bonds between, well, all the characters. They have come so far. There’s this mutual love and respect during all the characters even if they don’t always get along twenty-four-seven. That’s the most remarkable part of the Calloway sisters and their love interests. Every single one of them has a problem. Every single one of them cares. They just fit together. Always.
Basically throw in all the goods of Addicted, cameras for a reality series, business and family drama, a whole new scandal (a sex tape–but not between Lily and Lo!) and one wedding. That’s Kiss the Sky in a nutshell. It’s sexy, it’s smart, it’s fun and romantic and everything that is lacking in New Adult literature. Ritchie Squared (I am calling Krista and Becca this I am sorry!) are on a roll and are in a league of their own in this genre.
Get ready for a swoon worthy ending that will leave you surprised in the best way.
I’m not really that fond of celebrity stories how much more reality shows! For this one, I almost bailed out when I found out about these set of rich kids starring in a reality show, plus the producer is a BIG prick. But oh well, I guess I’m just really curious to find out what’s the reason why Krista chose to subject herself into such a messy situation.
Kiss the Sky didn’t start in a good side for me because of the idea of a reality show plus I hated the prick producer! My! Authors shouldn’t start their stories introducing hateful characters! But oh well, atleast in the next few chapters, I am noticing some good aspect in this story. I don’t watch reality shows so I don’t have anything to compare this story with, but I guess this whole reality show wasn’t that bad at all. In this story, we we’re introduced into some sets of characters that I’m sure some of us could relate to. Aside from that, I also like that it added an issue about addiction which makes this story really relatable.
The romance part wasn’t that bad either. I know the idea of a guy who doesn’t believe in love sounds old already but the thing I find interesting about this couple is that they’re so alike. Opposites always attracts right? But for them it’s the other way around. Krista is an overachiever as well as Connor and they spent their school life competing against each other. Aside from that, I love the part that they’re true to themselves and they accepted everything about each other. They’re definitely not your typical couple, their idea of flirting is chopping each other’s head off (well, I guess it was on Krista’s part). Krista is definitely a b*tch and Connor is the kind of guy you wouldn’t want to cross with. So yeah, I guess they really are a perfect combination. Ofcourse their relationship wasn’t just all good but they also has some bad moments, but I guess the thing I like about it is that there’s no unnecessary drama. There may be a lot of drama in the show but between their relationship? Nah, all’s good!
I don't think I ever hated a character before as much as I hated this prick producer. He’s an evil incarnate and I can’t count how many times I want to castrate him while reading this story. It would have been fine with me if in the end of this story he got what he deserves but instead he got himself a million! Plenty of them! Can you believe that?! So yep, I guess the big part of my reason why I am giving Kiss the Sky a 3-stars rating was because of that. Aside from that, there were so many cursing in this story that sometimes I find disturbing (and that’s really something since I don’t normally mind them), plus a guy hitting a girl! What the! Who in the right mind would do that?! The sexy scenes we’re pretty intense too so I skipped most of them.
This was my first time from the authors, although it wasn’t that great first experience, I’m still interested on reading something from them especially the other books in this series.
This is the first book in the “Calloway Sisters Series” and continuation of the “Addicted Series”. It can be read as a standalone. But would make more sense if read in order.
This story focuses primarily on Rose, though we get snippets of her in the “Addicted Series” this is her first book. Rose is quite misunderstood and notably labelled an “ice queen” or “bitch”. Rose possesses this quiet vulnerability, this courage and strength, that often gets overshadowed by her ballsy and brash attitude. Rose’s main objective is her deep and unwavering loyalty to her sisters. She will do whatever she has to do, in order to help and guide and her sisters. I love that we finally get to see the story unfold from Rose’s point of view. This story is a bit of a departure from previous stories, as I believe this story is written lighter. Whereas, the “Addicted Series” is dark, filled with flaws and obstacles. This story has the same sort of struggles, but seems more “airy”. The character development, is as usual, spot on. The way the sisters (Krista and Becca), can weave a story, so seamlessly and with little friction, is remarkable. This story never ceases to amaze me, the content, which could be described as dark and depressing, never seems to feel dark and burdensome. This is just another must read from these talented and ambitious writers.
I couldn't wait to read a story about Connor and Rose. I found their relationship to be adorable and really enjoyed where the story went. I enjoyed Connor's wit and how Rose was able to give it right back. It was also nice to see Connor break down and really need Rose. Overall, I enjoyed reading about these two!
