I stumbled upon Fire Bringer in my regular visits to the bookstore and bought it without a second thought. I couldn't tear myself away from it. When i discover Clement-Davies had written another book about wolves, i ran right out to get it. When i finally sat down and read it, however, i was minorly disappointed.
The dialogue can be cheesy at points and bothersome at others. The author actually seems to enjoy killing off almost the entire pack in the first few chapters and depressing the heck out of the reader in the process. The "sight" itself and it's description bored me, though I don't know why.
Still, the book is very well written and i have nothing but compliments for it, with the exception of the previous paragraph. The underlying metaphors and allegories give the book incredible depth and perspective, and the history contained in the story educate the reader while the wolves' treatment create sympathy for modern wolves. All in all, it's a great book, but it isn't Fire Bringer.

This has been my favorite book since I was a kid. It has such vivid descriptions it allows ones imagination to conjure up all the action. Not to mention it has an intriguing storyline.
This book is off the charts. I was mesmerized by his gifted story telling, and fell in love with all the characters. I suffered and rejoiced with them. A true masterpiece

This book will leave you thinking for a long time to come. Even years later, it still has me wondering about life and coming back to read it all over again just to make sure I didn't miss anything. Beautiful writing all around.
My 11 year old loved this book but gives it a 4 star. Something about she didn't like how it kept changing the point of view.
I thought this was a great book overall; the plot-line was sound and kept me interested. The only problems were in the author's writing style. I remember being frustrated by the random history throw-ins, and I also remember some awkward phrasing that made me shake my head sometimes. It is definitely worth reading through for the story, though.

Though it is a book written for young adults, the story is written well enough to be a great read for all ages. I am now in college, and this book still has a special place on my bookshelf.
